Bloody Sock and the media.

Most media members are frustrated athletes who couldn’t make it. There are a great deal of talented writers out there, I know in Boston we have some great ones. But some just can’t help but make themselves the story, from this red stocking to a liteny of others. What I don’t understand about the whole red stocking, Gary Thorne story is, why make his comment kind of fleeting like he did. He makes a serious statement and doesn’t make it sound like a big deal, it’s not, it’s over. Curt Schilling was  part of a world series winning team, one part. Curt did a courageous thing that night for his team. If the story was that important someone would have had the sock tested but it wasen’t. Let it go! I’m sure Thorne has a huge ego like many writers and radio show host do, but the reality is, it is their job to report stories and comment on them and we do like to read the sports pages but guys it’s not about you and it never will be. Let the players play and let the media report it, now was that so hard to understand.
